Nepomuk ship
Built in 1933 in Belgium, in the shipyard of J. Boel & Zonen / Jos. Boel & Zn. in the Thames. It was originally called Rhodania and ran on the Rhone in France, from Lyon via Avignon towards Marseille. Then it reached the Rhine, the area of Basel and Strasbourg. It bore the names of Ville-de-Strasbourg and later Strasbourg. In 1980, the German shipowner Hans-Jürgen Woditsch renamed it Nepomuk. In 2006 it was bought by a Prague company around Zdenek Bergman / Prague Venice and brought to Prague. Today it is listed as the oldest passenger ship in Prague. Length according to websites: approx. 38.5 m. This fits with the fact that our hull model was around 35-38 m along the axis depending on the version and trim. Capacity: up to 112 people. She has the original/preserved character of a saloon boat and a unique Swiss Sulzer diesel from 1929, so the engine is older than the boat. It starts via cigars, which is a beautifully archaic technical thing.
